COSMIC BEINGS/ENTITIES:

The fictional Marvel Universe contains a number of beings in this category that are literally part of the universe, with their existence necessary to provide a certain function. Much like organs provide specific functions for the human body, these entities provide functions for the universe itself. There is no official (known) name for these beings, but they are often referred to as cosmic entities or cosmic beings.
Recent volumes of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe have been referring to them as "Abstracts." Many of them embody some concept or fulfil some essential need, but there are others who are considered within this reference frame simply due to their scale of power, such as the Infinites, Celestials, Cosmic Cubes, or Watchers.

Each cosmic being is unique, but they often have the following characteristics in common:

Power greater than that of virtually any mortal being, with extremely rare exceptions.
Note, however, that their level of power greatly varies, with some being able to affect the entire space-time multiversal reality.
The Living Tribunal, Eternity, Master Order, and Lord Chaos were once referred as meeting in 16-dimensional space.

No physical form. To visit the material universe they must use ‘M-bodies’, lifeforms created for them by an entity called Anthropomorpho in the ‘dimension of manifestations.’ The power bestowed upon a manifestation body is said to be directly dependent on how well any given creation is able to 'synchronize' with their assigned entity. Serving as a failsafe explanation to how higher-dimensional concepts, of literally greater than infinite power by 3-dimensional standards are sometimes overcome by far more limited lifeforms. Such bodies can also be granted as representatives of certain uniquely prominent physical entities, such as the Stranger or Galactus.

A completely amoral nature, uncaring about anything but their purpose of existence, and frequently to safeguard their Universe, i.e. themselves, from destruction. Although some have recurrently displayed personal, or even human-like, sentiments, and the Living Tribunal could be argued as maintaining a form of morality.

The Marvel Universe versions of the ‘gods’ of most earthly religions, excepting Christianity, Islam and Judaism, are not cosmic in the traditional sense, although the strongest of them such as Atum, Odin, and Zeus can rival or exceed the power of certain cosmic beings, as can the most powerful demons or independent mystic entities such as Zom, Dormammu, Mephisto, or the Vishanti. Certain mortal beings such as the Molecule Man, Mad Jim Jaspers, Franklin Richards, Hyperstorm, the Scarlet Witch and others have reached universe or even multiverse-affecting status. Heralds of Galactus are granted a small fraction of his power, proven enough to shatter planets, and the Elders of the Universe possess comparative, or in rare cases superior, power, as do certain other elite Marvel superheroes or supervillains, but their existence is not necessary for the universe to function. Others pretend to embody existential concepts, but lack the power of the true entities, such as the demon D'Spayre who has claimed to embody despair. Exactly how many true cosmic entities exist is unknown, and more keep being discovered as time passes.

Cosmic entities appear to have a loose organization, where each acts by itself, or in a small group, and they are frequently set up in dualistic opposition, such as Eternity and Death, Infinity and Oblivion, or Chaos and Order, sometimes even with a balancing entity, such as the In-Betweener or Galactus. However, they are all bound by a common set of rules, as imposed by the Living Tribunal.

The Hierarchy of the Marvel Universe:

The Hierarchy of the Marvel Universe is made up of various powerful beings or entities. Among the most important are firstly the Cosmic Beings or Entities who appear to uphold certain laws and positions of authori
ties, some are self-proclaimed and some are abstract entities who appear to embody certain aspects of the Marvel Universe itself while others appear to be embodiments of the cosmic balance of it.
There are also other vastly powerful, mystical, magical, extraterrestrial, extra-dimensional entities, deities, demons, and ascended or powerfully enhanced mutant and human beings that add to the omnipotent /nigh omnipotent superpowers of the Marvel Universe.

The Marvel Universe has by some been divided in to several different cosmological levels with many of these entities or beings transacting on the various levels of power and importance.

The Levels are:

Omniverse

E.g. The Living Tribunal

Multiverse

E.g. Abraxas

Universe

E.g. Eternity

It could be argued that the even more powerful beings may exist in another level above Omniversal such as The One Above All (not to be confused with the Celestial with the same name) who gives power and authority to the Living Tribunal to rule and judge over cosmic matters of importance in the Marvel Universe, making TOAA the ‘god’ of the Marvel Universe itself (E.g. Stan Lee or Jack Kirby). And the Pre-retcon Beyonder who was effectively supposed to be the single most powerful comic book character ever and was supposed to be everything that exists outside of the Omniverse which was like a microscopic spec to him. Because he was too powerful, he became the result of a ret-con by Marvel to down power him.

This is a rough guide to the Cosmic Hierarchy of the Marvel Universe. I say “rough” because for the most part a guide like this is based on ones interpretation of how these characters are positioned in the cosmic scheme of things revealed in the comics and in official profiles etc.
Even with the advantage of comic panel evidence and the comic book profiles it is still largely a controversial subject when designing a hierarchy, as some are based on power, some on importance, position or purpose. Basically, it is at the whim of the writers where a character is placed on the hierarchy and is subject to change depending on what the writers want to happen. A being who is all powerful one moment may be depowered the next or vice versa. For example; The Beyonder was the single most powerful being in the Marvel Universe, he was later part of a Retcon (Retroactive Continuity) , meaning his origin was changed, and he was de-powered to cosmic cube level, however, it appears he has been powered up again in recent times. The same thing happened with Owen Reece, the Molecule Man. The One Above all is supposed to represent God in the Marvel Universe, and the writer of the Comics, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby maybe, the creators of Marvel characters. TOAA is only mentioned and not really seen, and is the one who gives authority and power to the Living Tribunal to keep the cosmic balance and Judge Cosmic issues.

A to Z

ABRAXAS  (DESTRUCTIVE ENTITY BORN OUT OF ETERNITY THROUGH GALACTUS DEATH)

The entity known as Abraxas is a cosmic entity that sought out the destruction of the universe. He was kept imprisoned by Galactus, through his continual feeding off the life-force of planets.

Abraxas was defeated by Mister Fantastic (I) using the Ultimate Nullifier on Abraxas himself, erasing him from existence, thus forcing the timeline to correct the damages created by Abraxas' ravages throughout the Marvel multiverse. In essence, Mister Fantastic used the Ultimate Nullifier to destroy a part of Eternity, that part that Abraxas represented.

ABROGATE (SENTIENT WHITE DWARF ENTITY)

The entity known as the Abrogate is a sentient white dwarf that travels the universe. It's body allows those passing through it to teleport to any location in the universe they can think of, as long as the destination is in outer space, so long as it is willing to transport passengers, that is.

ACBA (WATCHER)

A member of the race known as the Watchers which are psionic entities that observe different sectors of the galaxies they live in.

Acba -alongside Edda and Egma, traveled to edge of a black hole to observe battle between Quasar and Maelstrom (who had grown immensely powerful by tapping into the kinetic energy of the expanding universe and stealing the form and powers of the Anomaly)

ADVA (DARK GOD , MASTER OF THE CONTINUUM GATE )

"Master of the Continuum Gate," Adva is a loyal servant of Perrikus and Majeston Zelia. Whenever the Dark Gods needed transportation, or information, they went to her/him/it. Adva aided the Dark Gods on several occasions, including transporting materials to Asgard, casting Perrikus's image over New York City, searching for Thor, helping Zelia form the Union, and more.

Adva is the Master of the Continuum Gate, and has incredible teleportation powers and is able to see everywhere virtually at once

ADVERSARY (EVIL EXTRA-DIMENSIONAL MYSTIC ENTITY)

The entity known as the Adversary is a powerful entity that sought out the destruction of the universe, wishing to rebuild it the way it wished it to be.

The Adversary was known to the Cheyenne Amerindians as the Trickster. The Adversary also assumed the role of Naze (II), the Cheyenne Shaman who taught Forge his mystical abilities, as well as the unborn infant child of Haven.

AEGIS (OF THE SORROWS, )

Little is known of this being at the moment since appearing in the Annihilation storyline.

Like her companion Tenebrous she appears to be on a power level with Galactus and they may well have some connection to Galactus. Some have speculated they may have been survivors along with Galactus from the previous universe, but this is highly unlikely since it defeats the purpose of Galactus and his purpose in this universe. There is no evidence that Eternity made any such agreements with any other crew members from Galactus’ ship.

AGAMOTTO (ONE OF THE MYSTICAL ENTITIES THAT MAKE UP THE VISHANTI)

The entity known as Agamotto the All-Seeing is one-third of the trio known as the Vishanti, a trio of benevolent entities that grant various magics to spellcasters. Agamotto primarily grants spells from the branch of magic known as Divination. When Doctor Stephen Strange has visited Agamotto's own dimension, Agamotto has appeared to him as a gigantic caterpillar. In fact, Agamotto explained to Strange that this was not his true form and that he had made himself an image from Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" that he had seen in Strange's mind Agamotto has also been pictured as a being resembling no creature on Earth.  Agamotto often appears as a caterpillar-like creature, but can assume any form it wishes.

It is believed that Agamotto was the Marvel Universe's first Sorceror Supreme.

The water-pipe that Agamotto puffs on is actually a powerful magical artifact, which can alter its appearance, based on Agamotto's desires. The artifact helps Agamotto channel his own powerful magics.

AHPUCH (ANCIENT MAYAN DEATH GOD)

Ahpuch is the god of the dead for the ancient Aztec and Mayan Civilizations. Disenchanted by the lack of new souls into his realm for several thousand years, he entered into a dark pact with six other gods of the dead in an attempt to merge their perspective realms. The ritual, however, released Atum in the form of Demogorge the God-Eater. Unable to contain the primieval entity, he ended up consumed by Demogorge and had to be rescued by Thor and an alliance of gods from other pantheons.

Ahpuch possesses the conventional powers of the Mexican Gods which includes superhuman strength (Class 25 presumably) and durability. He can also change his body into that as a desiccated skeleton (his traditional appearance). He also has several undefined powers occult in nature including the power to perceive death and project hellfire.

Thor Annual#10

AKHENATEN (POWERFUL COSMICALLY- AUGMENTED HUMAN ;EGYPTION)

Akhenaten ruled ancient Egypt as pharaoh from about 1367 to 1350 B.C. He was married to Queen Nefertiti. Akhenaten was a religious reformer devoted solely to the worship of Aten, the sun god. During the early part of his reign, he abandoned the state religion of Amun. He was later taken by aliens known as the Cosmic Order, who believed Akhenaten was the pinnacle of enlightenment and an ideal example of humanity. The Cosmic Order gave Akhenaten the Heart of the Universe, a powerful cosmic artifact that would turn those who possessed it into a living god on par with the most powerful cosmic entities in the Marvel Universe.

Akhenaten would return to Earth millenniums later, after learning to use the Heart of the Universe, seeking to restore his kingdom.

ALPHA (THE ULTIMATE MUTATE)

AMALGAM BROTHER (THE COMBINED MARVEL/DC AMALGAMATED COSMIC ENTITY)

ANCIENT ONE  (MYSTICAL ENTITY)

The Ancient One was once the master of Stephen Vincent Strange, aka Doctor Strange , and Karl Amadeus Mordo, aka Baron Mordo . Upon his mortal death, the Ancient One transcended into the spiritual plane, his soul now becoming a minor cosmic entity, occasionally coming to the aid of his former disciple, Doctor Strange.

ANOMALY (COSMIC ABTRACT ENTITY)

The entity known as Anomaly is a cosmic entity that is the personification of anomalies - the unknown, the impossible, the peculiar. It existed in a state similar to Chronos’ but was killed (and its power stolen) by Oblivion’s agent, Maelstrom.

ANTHROPOMORPHO

(EXTRA-DIMENSIONAL ABSTRACT ENTITY OF PRIME MANIFESTATIONS)

Anthropomorpho is the Prime Manifester of the Manifestations, a position which makes it the speaker of the Manifestation race.

The Manifestations are a race of abstract and other-dimensional beings from the Dimension of Manifestation that serve the cosmic entities of the omniverse, by creating bodies (called M-Bodies) for them. Through some sort of pact, the entities provide power to feed the Manifestations, who in return create proxies or avatars for the entities to act through when their physical presence cannot attend an event, such as the birth of a new entity or a reality-shattering battle. The Manifestations have no true leader negotiating through a primary diplomat, or Prime Manifester, who is currently Anthropomorpho.

Also known as Demogorge is the offspring of the female elder god Gaea and the Demiurge, the sentient life force of the earths biosphere. Atum began slaying all the elder gods who degenerated into demons as they were destroying one another to gain power. Despite driving most of them to other dimensions he absorbed most of their powers and became Demogorge  and left the planet to extinguish their absorbed energies.

He possess power far above any of the other immortals/gods of Earth including Odin, Zeus and Vishnu.

He can tap into and absorb large amounts of elemental and solar energies which he can manifest as destructive power blasts. He can also absob the energies of other gods and too much will cause him to become Demogorge.

BLACK CELESTIAL (CELESTIAL)

The entity referred to as the Black Celestial (II), is a member of the Celestials, born in the Black Galaxy. It's true name or purpose has yet to be revealed, its name is in reference to its armor color and where it was born.

BLUE CELESTIAL (CELESTIAL)

The entity referred to as the Blue Celestial, is a member of the Celestials. It's true name or purpose has yet to be revealed, its name is in reference to its armor color.

BUBONICUS

The entity known as Bubonicus the Plague-Bringer traveled the cosmos infecting civilizations with diseases, spreading death and destruction wherever it traveled. Bubonicus' diseases were even powerful enough to infect the Phoenix Force and Eternity (I).

Bubonicus resembles the Celestials, but is smaller in size. It is believed though, that Bubonicus may have been a member of the cosmic entities known as the Absolutes, but the cancellation of "Guardians of the Galaxy" prevented further revelations into the mystery of the Absolutes and their possible connection to the Celestials (which was originally intended to be a divergent faction of the Celestials).

CAREGIVER  (ELDER OF THE UNIVERSE)

CELESTIAL ORDER (VASTLY POWERFUL GROUP OF ENERGY BEINGS)

The purpose of the beings known only as the Celestial Order is to use their power to press peace onto a chaotic universe, to eliminate war, illness, want, and injustice through their chosen representatives.Originally, the members of the Celestial Order all had access to very advanced technology permitting them to explore the universe freely and filter the power from the Heart of Infinite. However, after accessing, or at least being exposed to energies of the Heart of the Infinite, they were transformed into beings of contained energy, walking transmitters of infinite power, able to emit energy blasts capable of destroying even cosmic beings like the Silver Surfer.

CELESTIALS (POWERFUL RACE OF ARMOUR-CLADED ALIENS)

The Celestials are a race of giants that travel the spaceways conducting various experiments on the forms of life across the cosmos. The average Celestial stands 2000' tall, but they can change their size at will. The largest Celestial is Exitar who towers his brethren at 4000' tall. Absolutes tend to shrink themselves to 30' or smaller when dealing with mortals. They possess a vast variety of powers, including the ability to control all forms of energy, create and convert matter, and create new beings. Also the inside of Celestials possess lifeforms who are in reality just extensions of a Celestial's immune system. These beings are capable of traveling outside the body of the giants to deal with any threats.

All are equal in power with one another, but these beings follow a hierarchy established in some unknown means.

The Celestials are born from organic galaxies spread throughout space, but have been referred to in the past as the children of Eternity, possibly used to scan for any foreign anomalies within his own body.

CHAMPION (ELDER OF THE UNIVERSE)

The Champion’s real name is Tryco Slatterus. Like all the Elders of the Universe, the origin of the Champion is lost in antiquity. What is know is that he is one of the oldest living beings in the universe, having been among the first of the universe's races to become sentient in the wake of the Big Bang itself. Truly immortal, he grew bored with the mundane pursuits of common existence, and decided to devote himself to physical self-perfection. After training himself for millennia, he set forth to learn all the methods of physical combat in all the known galaxies. Now he travels from one inhabited planet to the next, challenging the champions of each planet to a personal match using a form of fighting native to that world. In fifty thousand bouts on twenty thousand worlds, the Champion has never lost. He has visited Earth and battled superhuman champions there. The Champion joined the other Elders in an unsuccessful attempt to kill Galactus. The Champion controls the power primordial, the energy derived from the Big Bang itself. He has channeled this power into the development of his physical form: his musculature, his reflexes, his stamina, and his strength, while the exercise of human strength taps electro-chemical energies of the complex molecules in the body, the Champion's strength taps cosmic nuclear energies. His physical strength is only determined by the amount of cosmic energy his finite form can contain. This limit has yet to be seen. He apparently never tires since his body has the ability to tap whatever energies it needs to recuperate. He cannot be hurt by any means short of molecular dispersion. Having channeled all of the cosmic energy as his command into making his body a perfect fighting machine, the Champion can no longer direct that energy from his body into force-blast as many other energy manipulators can.

CHAOS (PERSONIFIED , ABSTRACT ENTITY )

The entity known as Lord Chaos is the personification of chaos within the universe. He serves as the counter-balance to Master Order. Together, the two entities help keep the universal balance even between the concepts of order and chaos, with the help of their herald, the In-Betweener.

Lord Chaos embodies the principle of disorder, randomness, and formlessness. It is one of a

small class of cosmic beings who seem to have no personality beyond the abstract concept it represents. (Others in this class of beings include Death, the In-Betweener, Eternity, and Master Order.) The origins of these abstract entities are unknown. They may have once been more conventional living organisms or intelligences who undertook a certain discipline or interest to such an extent that they have become synonymous with it. (This is in contrast with the Elders of the Universe who are still separate from their pursuits. The Gardener, for example, has a personality and identity beyond his passion for gardening.). They may also have been created by some as yet unrevealed intelligence for the sole purpose of embodying these universal principles or concepts. Lord Chaos was first observed during the final war with Thanos, the mad Titanian who worshipped the embodiment of Death. The extent of Lord Chaos's power or scope of influence is unknown. Apparently, Order and Chaos try to maintain a balance of power between them for the well-being of the universe. (Eventually, according to physics, the energy and matter in the universe will succumb to entropy, or maximum state of inert uniformity, meaning that Order will ultimately dominate.) Lord Chaos and Master Order may simply be aspects of Eternity itself. Their powers, nature, and function remain unknown at present.

CHRONOS  KRONOS  (TITAN GOD OF TIME)

Once the ruler of Eternals of Earth, one of his experiments blew his atoms apart, so he now exists as an humanoid nebula. Apparently considered a cosmic entity, became one with the universe, with control over time.

CHTHON (MYSTICAL EXTRA-DIMENSIONAL DEMON , ELDER GOD)

Chthon also known as ‘The Other’, ‘Demon of the Darkhold’, is one of the major Elder gods who first materialized in Earth's biosphere shortly before mankind appeared on Earth. He and his sister god Gaea were among those who inhabited the land masses of the Earth (as opposed to the sea or skies), and may have had something to do with forming certain geological patterns. When Gaea gave birth to the first of the newer gods, Chthon perceived that his sister's progeny would eventually supplant the Elder Gods. A scholar by nature, Chthon inscribed a parchment with the mystical knowledge of the world he had thus amassed. This parchment would later be known as the Darkhold. Chthon intended the Darkhold to be his touchstone with the Earthly dimension. As he surmised, Gaea's son Atum was a god-slayer, dedicated to the consumption and elimination of the evil which the Elder Gods had wrought in their degradation into demons. Chthon managed to escape to a nether dimension before Alum could slay him. When the Darkhold passed into the hands of intelligent beings at some later date, Chthon would have an indestructible medium through which to manipulate Earthly pawns as well as a talisman that could one day be turned into a dimensional portal for his return to Earth. Chthon possess a mastery of the forces of magic on a single description. In the dimension where he resides he has absolute control over every aspect of that dimension's reality. His major limitation is that he cannot freely teleport between dimensions because it takes such an enormous rift to accommodate the massive magical force that dwells within him. He cannot travel to Earth without the most elaborate of preparations due to the exhaustive magical screens around Earth first erected by his sister Gaea and reinforced by Earth's multitude of sorcerers over the millennia. It is far easier for Chthon to take mortal hostbodies on Earth that to manifest his psychophysical entirety. Even so, it appears that Chthon cannot easily (if at all) transfer his entire power into such host-bodies.

COLLECTOR (ELDER OF THE UNIVERSE)

The Collector’s real name is Taneleer Tivan. : Like all the Elders of the Universe, the origin of the Collector is lost in antiquity. What is known is that he is one of the oldest living beings in the universe, having been among the first of the universe's races to become sentient in the wake of the Big Bang. Virtually immortal, the Collector spent the first millennia of his existence with his wife and daughter on the tranquil world he chose as his home base. When their daughter had grown to maturity and left them, the Collector's wife died of mysterious causes. The Collector was unprepared for her demise: he had thought her as immortal as he. In meditation, he realized that an important factor in an Elder's immortality is the will to live, and his wife had simply lost here.

Determined not to succumb to his wife's malady, the Collector meditated upon what he might do to give his life meaning. In a vision, he foresaw that beings of great power would arise one day determined to destroy all life in the universe. To prevent this from happening, he decided to devote his life to collecting living beings and artifacts from throughout the known universe, and placing them in safekeeping. If what he foresaw came to pass, he could repopulate the universe and bequeath to them the knowledge and culture of the past.

Building himself a large starship, the Collector set forth, stopping at every inhabited world he found to acquire a sample of their finest achievements as well as living representatives of the world's lifeforms. In a matter of years, his ship was completely filled, and the Collector was forced to suspend his mission in order to build expanded facilities for his permanent collection. With the aid of robo-mechanics acquired from the planet Cron, the Collector converted several uninhabited planets into giant museums, and transferred his collection there. Every time his ship's hold was filled, he would return to the museum-worlds to deposit his recent acquisitions. At present, the Collector has filled ten museum-worlds with artifacts from a hundred thousand planets.

Over the eons, the Collector's monomania became more and more obsessive; making him lose sight of the original reason for which he began his collection. In recent years, the first being of great power he had foreseen as a threat to all life, Thanos of Titan, had been born and defeated without the Collector's intervention. When the second such great threat to life, Korvac of Earth, appeared, the Collector decided to send his daughter Carina to spy on him. Korvac slew the Collector before he could reveal to Earth's heroes what he knew of Korvac. A short time later, the Collector's kinsman, the Grandmaster, played a contest of champions with the spirit of Death itself, winning the power to resurrect the Collector apparently at the cost of his own immortal life.

Resurrected, the Collector resumed his ancient task. In his most recent known vision, he foresaw the attempt of Surtur to destroy Asgard.

As an Eider of the Universe, the Collector possesses an immortal body, immune to the cellular deterioration of aging and impervious to conventional harm (disease, penetration wounds, etc.). Only the dispersion of a major portion of his bodily molecules could prevent his regenerative power from functioning and cause death. Unlike some of the Elders (such as the Champion or the Contemplator) who have used their long lifetimes to develop vast powers of the body or mind, the Collector has not devoted any of his energies to self-perfection. Hence he has no special superhuman physical or mental abilities. The Collector is more interested in acquiring physical objects of power rather than developing powers of his own.

CONTEMPLATOR (ELDER OF THE UNIVERSE)

The Contemplator’s real name is That Ki. Like all the Elders of the Universe, the origin of the Collector is lost in antiquity. What is known is that he is one of the oldest living beings in the universe, having been among the first of the universe's races to become sentient in the wake of the Big Bang.

Virtually immortal, the Contemplator has spent his eons-long life in meditation, developing the powers of his mind and spirit, and using them to plumb the mysteries of the universe. He is now as in tune with the forces of the cosmos as a physical being can be. He believes his every action is dictated by the "desires" of the cosmos itself. Essentially a benevolent being, the Contemplator sometimes intervenes in the lives of worthy lesser beings to show them the way to greeter enlightenment. Most of his time, however, is spent in meditation, contemplating the infinite wonders of the universe with which he is intimate.

The Contemplator has complete mastery over his physical form and a high degree of sensitivity and understanding of the fundamental forces of the universe itself. The Contemplator can control all of his body's involuntary responses (heartbeat, respiration, nerve ending responses, perspiration) as well as all of his body's natural functions and needs. Further, he can perform great feats of physical coordination and agility simply by trying. As a pacifist, he seldom has any need for physical strength or battle skills, yet if he so desired he could channel his energies into such physical acts with surprising effectiveness.

In his meditations he has unlocked vast mental powers latent in his mind. He possesses the gamut of psi abilities (telepathy, psychokinesis, precognition, astral projection, teleportation, levitation) though he favors less rudimentary mental lines. Through meditation, the Contemplator can expand his field of awareness to near-infinite parameters. (This is popularly called "cosmic consciousness" or "becoming one with the universe.") By such universal attunement he can probe the many phenomena that comprise reality and learn whatever he wishes. By universal attunement, he has learned the existence of alternate universes, and he can use his cerebral powers to either transport himself to one, or to partially phase into another universe, making himself intangible and partially invisible.

CONTROLLERS (POWERFUL OAN OFF-SHOOTS OF THE GUARDIANS)

COSMIC AWARENESS

Cosmic awareness is a power shared by most cosmic entities in Marvel. Shared as in each having their own. The being can attune their senses to learn what is happening around them, if they just let it soak in, or they can concentrate on specific focal points. Cosmic awareness gives all detail to the being, from the slightest movement of an atom to the activities happening in the neighboring parallel reality. A being can accomplish many things with cosmic awareness, such as imbuing a portion of it onto others, which may drive them insane, as well as manipulate the universe around them. They can also block the cosmic awareness of weaker users near them, and active users of cosmic awareness can easily track one another if they are within range of one another, like a beacon. In combat, wielders can use this power to discern each-and-every possible move of an opponent, in addition to weakness they possess. Mortal users of cosmic awareness must be wary, as it can drive them insane if they use it too much, overloading them to the brink of insanity. A mortal form of this power is Environmental Awareness, which isn't as all-encompassing and is limited to the surrounding area around a being within the current reality.

COSMIC CUBES

The Cosmic Cubes are a form of sentient energy from an alternate reality, which have been captured and placed into a solid energy matrix/container within the Marvel Universe. They are also sometimes referred to as the Cosmic Containment Units.

The energy that forms the Cosmic Cubes are from the reality of the Beyonders, a race of powerful beings from another reality. The captured energy in the Marvel reality are the ones commonly encountered within the Cosmic Cube. The powers of the Cosmic Cube allow wielders of the glowing, geometrically-shaped containers to fulfill their wishes. However the grandest of wishes are often unachievable, due to the Cube's power limitations, however the wishes can still be granted via illusions. As more and more wishes are granted, the Cosmic Cube begins to develop into a new cosmic entity basing it's personality and appearance off of its wielders.

COSMIC HOST / COSMIC TRIBUNAL

The Cosmic Host is a very broad term that encompasses all the cosmic entities, demons, gods, and etc. in Marvel. Usually the term is used when a gathering of such powerful entities are called together. This gathering is also occasionally referred to as the Cosmic Tribunal.

DEATH (PERSONIFIED)

Death is the personification of death, the end. One of the four that make up the Cosmological Compass Points, the flip-side to Oblivion and opposite of Eternity. It is also known as Mistress Death.

DEATH URGE (MYSTERIOUS WRAITH-LIKE ENTITY)

Deathurge is a wraith-like superhuman entity, whose origin is unknown, who appears to be a messenger of death. Deathurge can fly at great speeds, become intangible at will, and draw forth from his non-reflective ebony body a variety of simple weaponry such as spears, axes, and bows and arrows. These weapons, also non-reflective black, appear to be made of the same unknown substance as Deathurge's body. When these weapons strike Deathurge's target, the target dies, a blackness spreading from the spot where the weapon bloodlessly struck and passed through the target's body. If the weapon happens to pass through someone other than Deathurge's target, that person will feel the sensation of numbing coldness but will not blacken or die. Deathurge's targets are apparently only those who have at least to some degree craved death and oblivion.

Deathurge's origins are not known. He may or may not be a supernatural being such as a demon or ghost. He may or may not be an abstract entity like Master Order or the In-Betweener. He may or may not be a physical being granted new life in a quasiphysical form such as the Eternal Chronos or Drax the Destroyer. It is not known what connection, if any, Deathurge has to the personification of Death.

The entity known as the Devron the Experimentor is a member of the Celestials, who travels the universe usually with Gamiel the Manipulator, conducting experiments on the life forms of various worlds.

It is implied that Devron and Gamiel caused the Kree-Skrull War, after they were assigned there after ruining one of the Celestial experiments by introducing the Hulk (II) and Devil Dinosaur to a planet that was in its early stages of life.

DORMAMMU (EXTRA-DIMENSIONAL MYSTICAL BEING)

DRAGON OF THE MOON (ANCIENT DEMONIC DRAGON-LIKE ENTITY)

D’SPAYRE (EXTRA-DIMENSIONAL DEMON)

The origin of the demonic being known as D'spayre is unknown. It is possible that he serves a more powerful being known as the Dweller in Darkness, but D'spayre usually appears to be operating independently.

In D'spayre's first recorded exploit, he appeared in the area of the Florida Everglades that serves as a nexus to all otherdimensional realities. There he captured the young sorceress Jennifer Kale and the spirit of her deceased (but still active) mentor Dakimh the Enchanter. Then D'spayre bound his two captives to an arcane tower he had erected within the nexus. D'spayre intended to use the tower's evil mystical energies to corrupt his two captives, so that they would then use their great powers of sorcery in his service.

D'spayre is a demon who apparently draws psychic sustenance from the fear, anguish, and despondency suffered by human beings, and perhaps other sentient beings as well. In feeling such strong emotions people generate psychic energies. Apparently D'spayre "feeds" upon such energies, adding them to his own reserves of psychic force. It may be that D'spayre does not need the psychic energies generated by humans, but torments them psychologically merely for the sadistic pleasure of it.

D'spayre can mystically instill fear in human beings. Usually, however, D'spayre seems to prefer to act indirectly, and cause his victim to generate his own fear by mystically filling the victim's mind with illusions. These illusions will be of situations that will cause the victim to feel terror, great sadness, despondency, and possibly even suicidal urges. Presumably D'spayre has telepathic abilities that enable him to perceive in his victim's mind what would produce such effects in him, and then to project the illusions into his mind.

D'spayre has various other mystical abilities which have yet to be catalogued. He has a physical form, and can be physically harmed. It is unknown whether he can be killed.

The Elders of the Universe are comprised of the last surviving members of the first civilizations of the universe, all of whom have somehow managed to survive their deaths, prior to gaining the prize of immortality from Death (I). The Elders of the Universe each devote their time to one philosophy or lifestyle, seeking to become to most proficient in that area, their aliases reflecting their chosen path.

Realizing that being the sole survivors of the first era of this universe's history links them, the Elders have come to regard each other figuratively as brothers. However, in actuality, each of the known Elders belongs to a different race, and none is biologically related to any of the others (except for the Collector and his late daughter Carina). Long ago, the various Elders discovered that if they did not choose an all-encompassing pastime to pursue, they would over the eons lose the will to live, and would surrender their immortality. The Collector's wife Matani lived for billions of years before succumbing to apathy. Some Elders have chosen to develop their full physical and mental potentials; and thus become extremely powerful beings; others have not, and rely on technology to perform various feats.

It is not known precisely how many Elders there are in the universe. It is rumored that there is or was once a council of the greatest Elders.

Billions of years ago, probably at the beginning of time, when Eternity first manifested itself, Entropy was created. Entropy was a representation of Eternity, and his entire purpose was to destroy, as Eternity's purpose was to create. Entropy had incredible godlike powers superior to that of most cosmic beings and on par with such beings as Eternity. His power allowed him to do virtually anything and everything. In his own words, he was "beyond the cosmos, outside its perimeters and parameters."

Being a destroyer, Entropy may be knowingly or coincidentally affiliated with other destructive Abstractions such as Death, Oblivion, Lord Chaos, Un-Being, Rot, and Galactus. The latter is also an "offspring" of Eternity, making Entropy and Galactus "siblings". Entropy may be related to any or all of these other Abstractions, but their exact relationships remain unrevealed

GAEA (EARTH GODDESS AND ELDER GOD , ‘MOTHER EARTH’)

GALACTUS (PLANET DESTROYER)

Galactus' real name is Galan, born on the planet of Taa, from the previous universe, prior to the Big Bang a little over twenty-billion years ago. Galactus' headquarters is named Taa II, in honor of his original homeworld, while he uses his Worldship to travel the universe. He survived after being absorbed into the Cosmic Egg that was devouring his reality, and made a pact with Eternity (I), who was recreating the universe. He feeds off the life energies of planets, using this energy to maintain the wards on the prison that keeps Abraxas, another entity imprisoned, hence his continual need for these energies.

Galan is the Galactus of the 616 Universe and most of its alternate realities, but the Galactus of parallel realities are not all necessarily Galan. Each a different being, some from previous universes, others ascended to godhood, all charged with similar task.

Galactus can feed on planets without the aid of machines, but it is more efficient for him to use the machines to extract all the required energies he needs.

The energy that Galactus feeds on is used to help keep imprisoned the cosmic entity, Abraxas, as well as empower himself.

Galactus possesses cosmic power beyond the abilities of human beings to measure. Galactus is able to use the vast energies within him for an incalculable number of effects. Some of his most rudimentary abilities are the molecular restructuring or conversion of matter, the projection of energy with enormous concussive force, the teleportation of objects across space or even time, and the erection of invincible energy-screens and force fields. Even his heralds, whom he has endowed with a small fraction of his ever-renewing power, are able to manipulate matter and energy in ways far beyond human comprehension.

Galactus wears a full-body suit of armor constructed from an unknown extraterrestrial metal that permits him to regulate and control his personal energy. If he were to remove the armor, the vast cosmic energies that empower him would run rampant, with the potential to turn him into a small sun.

Galactus requires unknown energies obtainable only from a certain type of planet in order to sustain his life. The suitable type of planet need not be one where life is present, but it must have the potential to support life. Although he is able to extract and absorb this energy himself, he generally employs a complicated array of equipment to perform the conversion process for him. The equipment is not only more efficient than he is, but also enables him to avoid the needless expenditure of energy involved in the process. Sometimes Galactus drains the energies he needs from a planet while still leaving it barely habitable. Other times he destroys all life and water on the planet in the process, leaving its surface devastated and barren. Most often his feeding process destroys the planet, reducing it to space rubble. When Galactus was newly born in his current form, the energy of a medium-size Earth-like planet was enough to sustain him for over a century (using Earthly measurements of time). Now, for unknown reasons, he needs to feed about once a month. His body totally converts the energy he absorbs for its life functions and bodily activities without any waste products.

Galactus is telepathic, able to scan the thoughts of any mind he has yet encountered, no matter how alien or advanced it was.

Gammenon's task for the Celestials is the gathering of living samples for the Celestial Host to study.

GARDENER (ELDER OF THE UNIVERSE)

The Gardener’s real name is En Dwi Gast. Like those of all the Elders of the Universe, the Grandmaster's origin is lost in the early history of the universe. It is known that he is one of the oldest living beings in the universe. Like the other Elders, he is the survivor of one of the intelligent races that evolved in one of the first galaxies to form after the "Big Bang," the cataclysmic event in which the universe was created. Although his race became extinct and even his native galaxy died as the ages passed, the Grandmaster, like the other Elders, lived on, having become virtually immortal. As the relatively few survivors of the earliest period of the universe, the Elders regard themselves as figuratively being brothers.

The Grandmaster has spent his extraordinarily long life in pursuit of amusement through the playing of games. He has traveled throughout the known universe, studying many civilizations' forms of games and play to the point of mastering them. He then began to devise his own types of tournaments and contests, challenging various opponents to games of skill and chance for high stakes. As an Elder of the Universe, the Grandmaster possesses a virtually immortal body, immune to the cellular deterioration of aging and to disease, and impervious to conventional injury. Only the dispersal of a major portion of the molecules of his body (as occurred when he sacrificed himself to resurrect the Collector) could prevent his regenerative powers from functioning.

The Grandmaster possesses the ability to utilize his cosmic life force (the "power primordial") to resurrect dead beings no matter how badly their bodies have been damaged or dispersed, and to restore to full life beings who are on the verge of death. This power is simply an outward projection of the cosmic life force that makes all Elders virtually immortal, it has been hypothesized that the Grandmaster can only revive those who have been dead for less than about 29.5 hours (Earth time). After that, it has been hypothesized, not even his powers are capable of reassembling all of the organism's cells in the appropriate configuration to revive it as it was. The Grandmaster cannot resurrect virtually immortal beings like himself who are somehow killed.

The Grandmaster can also use his cosmic energies to kill other living beings simply by willing their deaths. It is unclear whether or not he can affect other virtual immortals with this power. His power of death was once used by Kang to nearly kill the Asgardian god Thor, but the Asgardians are not immortal in the same way as the Elders, since the Asgardians lack such high degrees of resistance to aging and injury.

HOGGOTH  (ONE OF THE MYSTICAL ENTITIES THAT MAKE UP THE VISHANTI)

The entity known as Hoggoth is one-third of the trio known as the Vishanti, a trio of benevolent entities that grant various magics to spellcasters.

Hoggoth is often called "hoary Hoggoth," presumably indicating that he is of great age. Agamotto, however, has claimed to have existed before the creation of the Earth. Hence, if Hoggoth is indeed the eldest of the Vishanti, he is older than most other known beings in the multiverse. Sorcerers speak of "the hoary hosts of Hoggoth" and sometimes invoke the hosts themselves in casting spells. This fact suggests that Hoggoth's hosts themselves have existed perhaps as long as Hoggoth himself and that they too can bestow mystical power. No more is known about the hosts of Hoggoth, however.

IN-BETWEENER (ABSTRACT ENTITY OF COSMIC BALANCE , AGENT OF CHAOS & ORDER)

The In-Betweener is a cosmic entity who exists as the synthesis of the major concepts of the universe: life and death, reality and illusion, good and evil, logic and emotion, existence and nothingness, god and man. Fifteen feet in stature, the In-Betweener is an agent of Lord Chaos and Master Order, two of the universe's principal abstract beings, whose appointed task is to maintain the universal balance. Simultaneously existing and not-existing, present everywhere and present nowhere. While possessing sufficient power to alter reality on a cosmic scale, the In-Betweener is not all knowing or infallible. Indeed, within the parameters of the In-Betweener's existence are both power and weakness, knowledge and ignorance.

INFINITE MAN (POWERFUL DC BEING WITH POWER OVER THE FABRIC OF TIME)

INFINITI (INFINITY GEMS ENTITY)

The seven Soul Gems, or Infinity Gems, are the scattered receptacles of the cosmic being once known as Infiniti also known as Nemesis. Infiniti was the first being created in existence after the birth of the Marvel Universe from the Big Bang. Infiniti grew lonely and eventually searched for companionship, but couldn't find any signs of life in the newly-recreated universe. It decided to scatter its essence into seven gems, each traveling to different corners of the universe, and one even into another dimension. It would be years, before Galan was finally reborn from his gestation of the previous universe into Galactus, along with many other Cosmic Entities.

The Soul Gems were eventually named for their attributes and enhancements granted. Each one of the Gems themselves were intelligent, as well as selfish. Only the strongest of wills could hold them, their main purpose to reunite. The gems are as follows: Soul, Mind, Reality, Space, Time, Power, and Ego.

INFINITES (VASTLY POWERFUL COSMIC ENTITIES)

The Infinites are gigantic omniversal entities that rearrange realities to make them more stable and run smoothly. Think of them as gigantic defrag programs on a multiversal PC. The average size of an Infinite is a light year tall at least.....

Infinites are usually served by different sized drones that resemble their parent, and the drones come in waves. The first wave is human-size beings standing about six to seven feet tall, but each wave afterwards they begin to grow and grow. The drones perform different functions, from eliminating any opposition to shifting around planetary bodies within the reality.

INFINITY (STAR ABSORBING ENTITY)

The entity known as Infinity (II), no relation to Infinity (I), travels the universe absorbing the energies of stars, leaving behind solar systems devoid of life.

INFINITY GEMS / SOUL GEMS

The seven Soul Gems, or Infinity Gems, are the scattered receptacles of the cosmic being once known as Infiniti.

All the gems were capable of providing its wearer additional advice when needed, as well as providing psionic defenses and an extra pair of eyes.

The Mind Gem granted the wearer all psionic powers of the mind, from simple Danger Sense to the various levels of Telepathy, and also helped amplify the powers of natural psionics. The wearer could also directly attack Ethereal and Astral beings, as if they were normal beings.

The Time Gem granted the wearer the ability to travel through time, immortality against aging and age-based attacks, postcognition, precognition, the ability to age others older or younger, manipulate their own age and take on the abilities of their future selves, control chronal energies, as well as a danger sense that could warn them of attacks in the immediate future.

The Space Gem granted its wearer the ability to travel through reality. With this gem the wearer could run, swim, fly, or, most commonly used, teleport. The wearer was even capable of limited Dimensional and Time Travel. In addition, the wearer could attack others by teleporting them to other locales or rendering an opponent in motion unable to stop or move, as well as protect the wearer from similar attacks.

The Ego Gem, also called the Dimensional Gem, granted its wearer the ability to travel between dimensions in the multiverse and omniverse, as well as detect and control the energies found in the chronal and dimensional stream. Using these energies, the wearer could banish opponents to other dimensions or force other-dimensional beings to return home, as well as summon other beings. The wearer can also see and attack beings in bordering dimensions, like the Ethereal or Astral. The wearer could use the surface of the Dimensional Gem as a scrying pool and peer into other dimensions, but its most important function was that this gem contained most of the consciousness of Infiniti, who would later be reborn as Nemesis (V), until defeated by the Avengers and Ultraforce.

The Power Gem granted its wearer powerful strength, up to 1000-tons, powerful energy blasts capable of doing different types of energy damage, and the ability to locate the weaknesses of beings and objects. In addition, the wearer would also gain an enhanced physique capable of withstanding much damage, as well as a strengthened nervous system capable of ignoring vast amounts of pain.

The Reality Gem allowed it's user to bend reality to their whim, in addition to providing protection against reality-based attacks. With the gem the user could create new beings or affect existing beings or objects. While not powerful enough to affect Cosmic Entities on its own, when the different gems are brought together, the combined powers of the gems increase. The ability of the Reality Gem itself would be just below the ability of an evolved Cosmic Cube (see above).

The Soul Gem allows its wearer to affect the souls of others, as well as the wearer itself. With the gem, the wearer can drain the lifeforce of others and imprison it inside an extradimensional pocket within the gem called Soul World, where all the imprisoned psyches are usually under the control of the wearer. The wearer can tap the psyches to gain memories and skills possessed by those within Soul World. In addition, the gem protects the wearer from soul-based attacks, as well as the attacks of Ethereal beings. With the gem, the wearer can affect Ethereal beings as if they are normal opponents, and the user can fire an energy attack that hurts a being's soul, causing intense and crippling pain. The wearer can also peer into the darkest corners of an opponent's mind to see their destiny in life and the weaknesses of their character.

KUBIK (COSMIC CUBE ENTITY)

Kubik is a sentient entity that is one of the most powerful living beings in the known universe and that formerly existed in the form of a Cosmic Cube, a cube-shaped object possessed of vast, seemingly limitless energies. A sentient being who wielded the Cosmic Cube could use it to alter reality according to his wishes.

Kubik's ultimate creators were the mysterious otherdimensional entities known as the Beyonders.

Kubik's power seems virtually infinite by the standards of the human beings of Earth. The question remains, however, as to how Kubik's power level compares to that of the other beings known to be among the most powerful entities in the universe. Since they are all "Cosmic Cubes," Kubik's might is presumably equal to that of the Shaper and to that of the entity that is the combination of the false Beyonder and the Molecule Man. Responding to Bernard Worrell's fantasies. Kubik's power was capable of creating at least a duplicate of Earth (and its people) and the sun from the matter in a pocket dimension. Hence, Kubik may be more powerful than beings such as Odin, Zeus and the Watcher, who have not been shown to be capable of such feats. How his power compares to that of Galactus is unknown. However, Kubik may be less powerful than most known Celestials, and is definitely less powerful than the gigantic Celestial Exitar. Presumably Kubik is also less powerful than the true Beyonders, who created Kubik in the first place. Kubik is also definitely less powerful than Eternity, who is the sum total of the life forces of the entire universe, and is less powerful than the Living Tribunal, who serves as judge and executor of justice to the multiverse.

KULAK (POWERFUL DC MYSTICAL BEING)

LIVING TRIBUNAL (COSMIC JUDGE AND GUARDIAN OF THE MULTIVERSE)

The Living Tribunal is a vastly powerful entity who is usually represented by a yellow-bodied being with three faces, each one differently obscured by a purple veil. The three faces are the entities Vengeance, Necessity and Equity, each the embodiment of their namesake. The back of the head is completely veiled, the spot once belonging to the fourth face, the face that would in time become the enigmatic Stranger. It serves as a judge in the cosmic hierarchy, and its decisions are final. No one is capable of defying its decree, except the One Above All (I), who grants them their powers. Its main purpose is to keep order within the Marvel Multiverse, and the rare occasion when there is bleed over to the other Multiverses in the Marvel Megaverse.

The Living Tribunal is served across the multiverse by beings it employs to carry out verdicts in various cases. These beings are called Tribunals, and represent some of the best legal minds across multiple realities.

MEPHISTO (EXTRA-DIMENSIONAL DEMON, PERSONIFICATION OF EVIL)

"Mephisto," which is short for "Mephistopheles," is a name given him by human beings who mistakenly believed him to be a legendary devil.

: Mephisto is an extradimensional demon whose origin is unknown. He rules a fiery pocket dimension that he calls "hell" or "Hades" although it is neither the hell of the Christian religion nor the Hades ruled by Pluto, the Olympian god of the dead. Mephisto calls his extradimensional realm "hell" in order to exploit Earth human beings' belief in a single being of absolute evil, who is often referred to as Satan, who rules such a realm. Mephisto resembles the traditional visual conception of the devil. (It is not known whether this is Mephisto's true appearance, or one that he has adopted in order to resemble the devil.) He also allows himself to be called names that human beings give to their conceptions of devils, such as Mephisto, a shortened form of Mephistopheles, the name given to the devil in the Faust legends. Indeed, Mephisto has allowed people to believe him to be Satan himself. However, Mephisto is not the Biblical Satan, nor is he an actual devil such as those depicted by Judaism and Christianity. The "real" Satan, if such a being exists, has yet to be seen in any account.

Mephisto's domain is inhabited by himself, by lesser demons who serve him, and by the astral forms of certain deceased human beings, which have been trapped in the bodies of demons. These demonic bodies imprisoning human spirits have been magically altered to resemble the deceased's mortal human forms.

Mephisto is continually seeking to add more spirits of sentient beings to his realm by inducing living sentient beings to submit their wills to his. Mephisto apparently seeks primarily to enslave human souls, although he will go after those of extraterrestrials on Earth as well. Indeed, he has made repeated unsuccessful attempts to break the will and enslave the soul of the noble alien known as the Silver Surfer. He has also made attempts to take possession of the soul of the Asgardian god Thor.

: Mephisto possesses vast supernatural power, which is apparently inherent within him. He can use this magical energy for various effects, among which are the augmentation of his own physical strength, levitation, teleportation, the projection of mystical energy as force blasts, invisibility, matter manipulation, image projection, size transformation of his body or other objects or beings, the creation of temporary interdimensional apertures, and so on. There seems to be no single feat beyond Mephisto's capabilities, with two exceptions: the subjugation of any sentient being's will to his own without that being's deliberate submission, and the "reading" of a sentient being's thoughts.

Mephisto also possesses certain powers enabling him to capture and detain the astral bodies (sheaths of the soul) of recently deceased human beings. Mephisto does not have jurisdiction over all the souls of humanity's recently deceased. It is not yet known what the prerequisite conditions are for him to be able to manipulate a human soul, nor are the precise means by which he accomplishes the feat known. Apparently these conditions require that the human being in question willingly agree to submit to Mephisto's will. It is not known how a human being may free himself from bondage to Mephisto (although Johnny Blaze apparently did), nor whether Mephisto will forever retain control of the souls he has obtained. Nor is it known whether or not Mephisto "feeds" on the psychic energies of such souls as other demons do.

Apparently Mephisto can entrap a living human being within his realm through sheer physical force, even if the person did not submit his or her will to him. The woman named Topaz was thus entrapped until her recent escape.

As a demon, Mephisto is functionally immortal and beyond such human needs as food, air, and sleep. His body appears to be composed of some supernatural substance that is more durable and resilient than human flesh and tissue.

Among the demons of various extradimensional netherworlds adjacent to Earth, Mephisto has few rivals in terms of personal power and scope of influence. Only Thog and Satannish come close.

Mephisto's power seems to be connected to his extradimensional domain and diminishes over time spent away from it. Therefore, he usually sends demonic agents to do his bidding.

NEMESIS (INFINITY GEMS ENTITY)

Nemesis, also known as Infiniti, was the first sentient being to awaken after the birth of the universe. Lonely, the entity divided itself into seven gems to travel the universe to look for any signs of intelligence. Six of the seven gems remained in the Marvel Universe, while the seventh traveled to the Ultraverse.

After being defeated by Earth's heroes led by Adam Warlock during the Infinity Gauntlet, the Living Tribunal decreed that the Infinity Gems never work in conjunction as a sextet ever again. The ban was lifted during the Infinity War by the Living Tribunal, but has since then been declared that no further lifting of these restrictions will ever be allowed.

The seven Soul Gems, or Infinity Gems, are the scattered receptacles of the cosmic being once known as Infiniti.

ONE ABOVE ALL, The

(THE AUTHORITY AND POWER BEHIND THE LIVING TRIBUNAL)

The entity known as The One or  One Above All is the personification of Marvel, not the Marvel universe, but everything the company is!

[In the DC Versus Marvel mini-series, which would also form the Amalgam Universe, the two brothers in the mini-series were both personifications of both universes. Initially the blue brother was to be the One Above All, but later plot development nixed that idea. Later on it would also be shown that the crossover was initiated by the Living Tribunal and the Spectre (from the DC Universe).]

ONE ABOVE ALL, The (CELESTIAL)

ONSLAUGHT (SENTIENT PSIONIC ENTITY)

Onslaught was a sentient psionic entity created from the consciousness of two mutants: Professor Charles Xavier, telepathic founder of the heroic X-Men, and the charismatic subversive known as Magneto, Master of Magnetism. During a battle between the X-Men and Magneto's Acolytes, Xavier used his telepathic powers to shut down Magneto's mind, rendering him catatonic. During the psionic contact, Magneto's anger, grief and lust for vengeance entered Xavier's consciousness; commingling with every long-suppressed negative feeling Xavier had endured during the last 30 years. This aggregation resulted in the being known as Onslaught.

Onslaught remained dormant for some time. Gradually, Xavier's frustration with his dream of mutant-human harmony began to increase, exacerbated by the daily growth of anti-mutant hysteria, the deaths of dozens of mutants from the lethal Legacy Virus and his own failed attempt to rehabilitate the mutant sociopath called Sabretooth. Xavier reached his breaking point when anti-mutant humans killed a young mutant near the grounds of the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, the secret base of the X-Men. It was at this point that Onslaught awakened within Xavier and began to manifest himself to others.

: Onslaught possessed the combined mutant abilities of progenitors Professor X and Magneto. He could induce illusions, temporary mental or physical paralysis, loss of specific memories, or total amnesia; project mind-numbing mental bolts; and sense the presence of mutants within a small radius. Also, Onslaught was able to shape and manipulate magnetic fields, both natural and artificial. Using his powers to augment his strength, he could lift up to 100 tons. Other abilities included telekinesis and astral projection

OSHTUR

The entity known as Oshtur is one-third of the trio known as the Vishanti, a trio of benevolent entities that grant various magics to spellcasters. Oshtur often appears in the form of a beautiful woman, without a body, but can assume any form she wishes. Oshtur is often called "omnipotent Oshtur." This name suggests that she may be the most powerful of the three Vishanti. However, it is clear that Agamotto himself is one of the most powerful known mystical beings. On one occasion Doctor Strange invoked both Hoggoth and Oshtur in casting a spell against Agamotto, but the spell failed. Possibly this incident indicates that Agamotto is more powerful than either Hoggoth or Oshtur, or perhaps only that the other two Vishanti chose not to help Strange against Agamotto (in any event, though Oshtur clearly possesses vast power, she is presumably not literally omnipotent.) The fact that Oshtur is also addressed as "gracious lady" may indicate that she has a kindly and noble nature.

OTHER (EXTRA-DIMENSIONAL ENTITY)

The entity known as the Other is an extra-dimensional entity that seeks to enter the Marvel Universe, stealing and devouring the memories of all in its path.

OTMU (WATCHER)

Otmu physically attacked Quasar when he questioned his purpose, but then apparently allowed himself to be killed by Quasar. It is not clear if he returned to life along with the other Watchers who were convinced by Quasar that their deaths were affecting the universe as well, and that their chronicles of the history of the universe outweighed the minor influence they had on others.

OYRE (WATCHER)

A member of the race known as the Watchers which are psionic entities that observe different sectors of the galaxies they live in. Oyre discovered the recluses, agreed to cease meeting with the rest of his race in order to be allowed to observe the recluses via trial under She-Hulk

PHOENIX FORCE (COSMIC PRIMAL FORCE)

The Phoenix Force is an entity that represents the potential lifeforce of the universe. The Phoenix Force has been known to imbue humans in the past with portions of her power, as well as taking human forms, as was the case with Phoenix (II).

The Phoenix Force houses its former hosts in an extra-dimensional space known as the White Hot Room, after they pass on from their lives/duties.

The White Phoenix of the Crown is believed to be the Phoenix Force at full-power, when it isn't afflicted with the baggage of mortal attributes, which it often possesses after possessing hosts or encounters mortals for long periods of time.

The Phoenix Force, as mentioned earlier also represents the psychic essences of those in the future. When the Phoenix Force uses its powers, it kills off potential life in the future. It is also this energy that it uses to recreate life, an aspect of which has the Phoenix Force sometimes referred to as the Resurrection Force.

The Phoenix Force is one of the few cosmic entities born from a previous universe. When it was born exactly is unknown, but it is known that it dies with the previous universe and is reborn in the next universe as a new creature with the memories of its predecessor.

The colors of the Phoenix Force (or its host), reflects its emotional state.

Primarily known as the Phoenix Force, it has also been known as the Phoenix (II), Dark Phoenix (I), Black Queen (II), the Resurrection Force, Phoenix of the White Crown and the Phoenix of the Crown.

POWER COSMIC / POWER PRIMORDIAL (COSMIC POWER)

The Power Cosmic and Power Primordial are essentially the same thing. The exact nature of these powers is hard to pin down, but this power allows the users to manipulate almost any form of energy, manipulate the life-force of the users and others, manipulate the elements, teleport and more with enough experience. Essentially whatever exists in the universe is what these powers can emulate given enough time and experience.

This power is most commonly used by cosmic entities, heralds of entities and Elders of the Universe.

PROTEGE (ALL-POWER DUPLICATING BEING)

The being known as Protege was the leader of the Universal Church of Truth in an alternate future. He appeared to resemble the Human teen, but possessed great intelligence as well as the uncanny ability to duplicate any powers used in his presence, regardless if he understood how the power itself functioned. Protege was able to mimic the abilities of regular beings to the mighty Living Tribunal. Protege sought to ascend to godhood and replace the One Above All.

The Protege was married to Malevolence (II), the daughter of Mephisto, thus making Mephisto his father-in-law.

Protege was powerful after having absorbed so many abilities, but he was still inexperienced, as well as limited by how many powers he could access at one time. Also while he was arguably the most powerful entity in that alternate future, he was still limited to the physics of that reality, and subject to defeat by the combined forces the Living Tribunal, the Hawk God of Arcturus, Eternity (I) and the added might of the Celestial, Scathan the Approver.

Those who once possessed it, will find they are able to survive without biological requirements, sleep and are effectively immortal against natural death.

Star Brand may be relinquished to another, only by the current possessor of his own free will.

The White Event was an explosion of white light in the New Universe that imbued thousands of humans in the universe's Earth with super-human powers. The entrance of the future version of Ken Connell into his past with the help of the Star Brand, which was the present to everyone else, was what triggered the White Event.

There have been many wielders of the Star Brand over the centuries, but those revealed are:

Combining with the memories of the greatest members of the Kree race, a sophisticated artifial intelligence and eventually a dormant Cosmic Cube. Supremor presents itself to others as a giantic tentacled head inside a giant, fluid-filled tank, but in actuality this presentation is nothing more than a facade, as the true Supreme Intelligence is a small box-like construct hidden away in another room.

Like any computer program, the Supreme Intelligence can survive as an energy transmission, should it need to escape, transferring its being via any form of telecommunications, preferably into another computer.

Aside from ruling the Kree Empire, the Supremor is constantly on the lookout for new appearances of Cosmic Cubes, afraid of a rogue one accidentally destroying any part of the universe, much like the accident that affected the Skrull Empire when they possessed the Cosmic Cube that would become the Shaper of Worlds.

TENEBROUS (OF THE DARKNESS BETWEEN STARS)

Like Aegis, Tenebrous is an unknown quantity at this point. He appears similar in appearance and power with Galactus and may have some connection to Galactus though it is unlikely he is a survivor of Galactus’ ship from the previous universe as has been speculated, which would strain the purpose of Galactus being the only survivor of his universe making a deal with Eternity to have a purpose and position in this universe that is unique to Galactus himself. Who or what ever Tenebrous and Aegis are, they are equal in power with Galactus as is seen in the Annihilation storyline where they defeated Galactus together.

TERMINUS (SCAVENGER AND DESTROYER OF WORLDS)

THANOS (COSMIC NIHILIST & CONQUEROR , WORSHIPPER OF DEATH)

TIAMUT / THE DREAMING CELESTIAL (RENEGADE CELESTIAL)

His true name has been stricken from memory by the Celestials, after it was banished from the Second Host to come to Earth. The Dreaming Celestial's armor was once golden, but turned black after the battle to remove it from power during the period of the Second Host on Earth.

Tiamut's name is stricken from memory and records by the Celestials. It is simply referred to as the Dreaming Celestial, the Black Celestial (I) or the Great Renegade.

The crime Tiamut performed to be exiled from the Celestials was the murder of another fellow Celestial. The Deviants of Earth believe Tiamut's crime was their creation, but this is untrue, as they were created by Ziran the Tester.

The Vishanti are Agamotto, Hoggoth, and Oshtur, three benevolent extradimensional entities possessing vast mystical power, who bestow mystical knowledge and power upon sorcerers who invoke their names and whom they consider worthy. They are the beings whom Earth's sorcerer supreme, Doctor Stephen Strange, most often invokes to grant additional power to his spells.

Very little has been revealed about the Vishanti themselves. Presumably they are indeed three separate beings, although one text has referred to Agamotto as one of the "aspects" of the Vishanti. On the few recorded occasions that the three Vishanti have manifested themselves together to human beings, Hoggoth has appeared as a mans head, Oshtur as the head of a beautiful young woman, and Agamotto as the head of a catlike being. On one of these occasions Agamotto resembled a lion, while on another he looked much like a tiger. It is not known what resemblance these manifestations may bear to the Vishanti's true forms.

The Watchers record all their data and have a policy of non-interference, though rogues have been known to their race. The policy of recording data goes back to an ancient pact the first four elders of their race had made with the Living Tribunal. The policy of non-interference was enacted after the Watchers first attempted to share data with the planet Prosilicus, which resulted in the planet's inhabitants going to war and causing much pollution and deaths, horrifying the Watchers.

The Watchers are from the planet Watcherworld. The leader of the Watchers is He Who Summons, but the race's actions are usually presented at a council and put to vote.

There are some Watchers who have appeared that are unnamed:

Unnamed Watcher-stationed in Sector 14X of the Andromeda Galaxy, defended himself against an attack by Warlord Wrogg by causing time to speed up around the attackers, rapidly aging them to adulthood.
